Are there any age limits for the participants of the Olympiad?

Competition is open to students from major cities and capitals of the world aged 14 to 18 years.

Who prepares tasks for main rounds and blitz contest?

The scientific program is coordinated by an international jury with experience of participating in international academic competitions. Tasks will correspond to the level of international olympiad tasks.

Besides the main rounds students will take part in an interdisciplinary blitz contest. Participating teams are asked to prepare 2 tasks on each discipline (mathematics, informatics, chemistry, physics) in advance. Tasks of blitz contest must correspond to the level of final school exams.

Do we have to pay the fee?

Participation in the Olympiad is free of charge.

Students and team leaders pay for flight tickets, visa services and medical insurance.

How many students and team leaders may a city send?

Each city sends 8 participants (2 participants from the city compete in each discipline). Three team leaders should accompany each team.

What are the functions of the team leaders?

Team leaders will translate tasks for students therefore team leaders must be experts in the following subjects: mathematics and informatics, physics, chemistry.

Who can register city team?

Only one team leade should be a contact person of the city. This person also provides detailed information about all team members and leaders using his/her personal account.

Where can I get an official confirmation?

Team leader should contact City administration (likely Department of External Relations ) in order to get an official document confirming the team participation in the Olympiad of Metropolises.
